Who May Need Immigration DNA Testing
Before You Book
Collection cannot be completed unless the client arrives with all required identification, case documents, participant information, and authorizations. Missing or incomplete requirements may result in rescheduling and additional fees.
Two-Step Payment Process
Step 1 — Lab Savvy Booking and Collection Services
Payment to Lab Savvy LLC is required at the time of booking. This payment confirms the appointment and begins appointment preparation, document review, case coordination, administrative processing, and professional specimen-collection services.
Step 2 — Laboratory and Immigration Case Processing
A separate independent laboratory and immigration case-processing fee is required in addition to the Lab Savvy booking payment. The amount may vary based on the relationship being tested, the number and location of participants, shipping, and case requirements.
Lab Savvy will review the complete testing process, required documents, and applicable laboratory fee with the client before specimen collection begins.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does immigration DNA testing take?
Timing depends on participant locations, overseas scheduling, shipping, receipt of all specimens, laboratory processing, and government review. Completion dates are not guaranteed.
Can all participants be tested at the same location?
U.S.-based participants may complete collection through Lab Savvy at an approved scheduled location when authorized by the applicable laboratory and case instructions. Overseas collections are coordinated according to the applicable laboratory, embassy, consulate, and country instructions.
Can I use a self-collected at-home DNA kit?
No. Self-collected or mail-in home DNA kits are not accepted for immigration DNA testing. Collection must be completed in person by an authorized collector at an approved location with identity verification and chain-of-custody documentation. Mobile collection at a home or another approved location may be available when permitted by the laboratory and case instructions.
Does DNA testing guarantee immigration approval?
No. DNA testing evaluates the tested biological relationship only. The requesting government organization makes the final decision.
